1.
Note all your needs
First, have a good clear-out, so you’re not factoring in
items you haven’t used for years. Now take a look around your existing kitchen
and make a list of all the things you like and dislike about it. This could be
anything from how much storage there are you need and where it should place and
which types of appliances and color of the cabinetry. This preplanning will
help you focus on retaining or improving particular aspects of designing your
kitchen.
2.
Make a rough sketch of your Kitchen
An initial sketch of your interior and kitchen space with the
dimensions of your walls, ceiling heights as well as doors and windows will
make it easier to visualize the possibilities of your new kitchen and layout.
The sketch doesn’t have to be overly precise or look professional; it’s just
very helpful for the initial consultation with our kitchen designers.
3.
Customization process
Once your kitchen layout has been decided, it is time to look
at customization options, including your desired kitchen cabinet finishes,
colors, features, and the kitchen accessories for inside your kitchen
cabinetry. At Kitchen Decor, we have more than 200 types of
kitchen cabinet finishes ranging from laminate and glass to lacquer; marble,
ceramic and stainless steel to wood veneer. No two kitchens are the same, and
you have the opportunity to create a truly unique design.
4.
Decide shape
Kitchen shapes place an important role in kitchen designing.
There are few fundamental layouts for most kitchens - the G, L, U, single,
parallel, peninsula and many more. Although certain floor plans create a more
spacious, capable kitchen, each kitchen layout can be enhanced with the right
cabinetry and decorative accents. Kitchen Island can be added to many of these
layouts depending upon the overall size of your kitchen to create additional
counter space. Our kitchen designer will help determine if you have enough
space to accommodate an island.
5.
Choose your Material type
Having decided on the kitchen layout, it's time to choose the
materials you'll use. Flooring can be wooden, laminate, ceramic tile, vinyl, or
"green" materials, such as linoleum, which is suddenly popular again.
Cabinets may be new or refaced - a stylish way to save money.
Kitchen Countertops may be made of many materials. Natural
stone, such as limestone, marble, and granite is attractive but subject to
stains and chips. Solid surfaces, engineered stone, concrete, wood, and
laminate are other options.
6.
Set your budget
Always be honest about your budget so that your designer can
help you decide where to save and where to invest – even if you haven’t got
large sums to spend.
